IQ Engines’ image recognition platform was developed by 7 PhDs over 4 years, supported by grants from the National Science Foundation. There are several unique features in the platform worth noting:

(1) On-device and server-side recognition

(2) Crazy good computer vision 

We have developed several computer vision techniques to deliver outstanding performance.  These include:

• Object recognition: ability to recognize logos, media and products
  
• Barcode recognition: used for QR, UPC and ISBN barcodes (more coming soon)
  
• OCR: optical character recognition
  
• Similarity matching: discovering the most similar images in your dataset
  

(3) Any image

When we receive an image query, our computer vision modules identify the key visual content within a few seconds and return relevant keywords via the API. However, if we cannot get an accurate result using computer vision, we send the query to a suite of crowdsourcing modules — an innovative network architecture we built from scratch that uses real people to identify images. Thus, every image submitted is tagged with relevant content.

(4) Real-time learning

The image recognition engine can learn (get smarter and faster) over time. As images come in from end-users and our crowdsourcing modules label the ones that computer vision can’t identify, our labeled database grows so that more images can be processed with computer vision over time. 

(5) Management dashboard

We offer much more than image recognition – we provide a complete management platform in which you can view and analyze visual queries to understand your customer use.

We offer customized training – upload images and metadata to train your private computer vision database.
